Grandpa's Corn Shucker

Hi All,
I am back from Fla where I spent a few days, closing up the condo we rented, and bringing my Mom and Dad home, from their stay there. I am happy to be home and ready to "nest in" for Fall and Winter! I wanted to show you my Grandpa's old corm shucker, that I had my carpenter turn into a planter/coffee table.
Grandpa and I used to use this old shucker, alot...
We put three side on it, so we can put our feet up or a cup of coffee...
I am going to love decorating her for the changing seasons...
Here she is under the pergola...

  8. This is such a colorful fun blog-loving it..YOU HAVE JUST REMINDED ME- I have one of those CORN SHELLERS LIKE YOURS still attached to the wooden box stored in our woodworking shop ..I WILL GO GET IT NOW and put it to use. Thanks,
I am old enough to remember from the 40s-50s using those at the barn. The work went like this- We pulled the dried corn shucks off the ear of corn then we would feed each ear of corn into the top while turning the handles and the kernels of corn were left in the box leaving a whole -stripped COBB. The corn cobbs were used in hog feed. TODAY YOU AND I WOULD USE THE COBS FOR CRAFT PROJECTS,RIGHT?

i WILL BE FOLLOWING-HOPE YOU WL FIND ME AND VISIT AT 'LIKE GRAMMA'S HOUSE'
