Hi!

Hi All,
I am back with you for a bit. My Dad had double knee replacement 4 days ago. He is 82 and in great shape, so he is doing great in therapy. They moved him to skilled care today in the hospital, where he will be for a few days till he is ready to come home. He is dealing with a little confusion, tho. They don't seem too concerned about it, most likely a combo of pain meds and low blood pressure from the meds. He has such a great, positive spirit and overall, doing really well.
It was in the 50's today in Illinois??? I would love to see some SNOW! I have all the decor just waiting...
On the island...
In the dough bowl...
The bookcase...

The teacart...
The fireplace...

Okay, it can wait until I get my Dad home from the hospital, but then, I am ready!!!

Coffee Bar

Good Afternoon,
Today we have freezing rain, but again the temperature is suppose to rise, so it won't last too long.
I am at it again, moving things around! I decided to make a coffee bar out of my new rolling island.
I have had three Kuering coffee makers and I love them, but they always start acting up on me! I thought I would try a Mr. Coffee single cup maker. Starbuck's now has Kcups, be still my heart!!! Hope your day is going well!

I Won't Be Posting As Much...

Hi All,
My Dad has both knees replaced today, so I will spending most of my time at the hospital and taking care of my Mom, too, as she has had a couple of strokes in the past and macular degeneration, but we will go everyday to see Dad.
He did great through the surgery, which lasted 2 hrs and only 40 minutes in recovery. Tomorrow the therapy will start. He turns 82 this month and was playing tennis up until last Spring, when the pain just got too bad. He is an incredible athlete, so I am hoping he will be able to get back on the tennis court this summer. Until then, I will be taking good care of my Daddy and Momma :)
I will check in on all of you, and post when I get a chance.

The Cruise...

Hi All,
Hubby and I returned from The Elvis Cruise last night, so I wanted to share the highlights with you!
We ran into Joe Moscheo with The Imperials. His group sang with Elvis in the late 60's. His daughter Toni was with him :) Sweet man. They put on a gospel show on Sunday morning.
Here is Nassau...
Interior of the ship...
Our room with a cute towel every night. This is a froggie...
The big highlight was getting to meet and get my picture with Joe Guercio. Elvis called him Maestro. What a neat guy. After Elvis passed, his orchestra worked with Diana Ross, and others. I love to hear their personal remembrances of Elvis. So wonderful!
I loved the cruise but always glad to get back to Home Sweet Home!

Our 10th Anniversary Cruise!

Hi All,
Hubby and I will be leaving this week for our cruise to the Bahamas! This was my 10th anniversary present. Wasn't he nice to take me so I can spend a little time with The King??? lol
We usually go to Memphis during Elvis week, so this will be like icing on the cake! I saw this man twice in concert in the 70's. Unbelievable entertainer.
These guys will be on board. The Imperials, his backup gospel singers...
And Joe Guercio, his orchestra leader...
I just threw this one in, cuz it is one of my favorites of Elvis and Priscilla...
This is what he looked like when I saw him in concert. Looks, charisma and talent, be still my heart! He did so many good things for people in his short life. He took care of his own and lots of people around him. I will come back with lots of pics. Have a good week ahead!

P.S. When I return, I will be sharing the garage apartment reveal. It is a studio apartment that we added behind the new garage! Stay tuned!!!

Winter in the Den...

Hi All,
All the Christmas is put away, inside and the winter decor is out in it's place. I will take down the outdoor decorations this weekend, when it is a little warmer.
I found an olden dough bowl and filled it with a green, berry and pine cone swag...
Above the TV sit my Granny's snowmen. I would buy her one every Christmas...
Wintery vase and my polo pic. Oh yes, and hubby's Sherlock graces the bookcase...

Another look at my new, olden dough bowl...
