Grandpa's Corn Shucker

Hi All,
I am back from Fla where I spent a few days, closing up the condo we rented, and bringing my Mom and Dad home, from their stay there. I am happy to be home and ready to "nest in" for Fall and Winter! I wanted to show you my Grandpa's old corm shucker, that I had my carpenter turn into a planter/coffee table.

 Grandpa and I used to use this old shucker, alot...

 We put three side on it, so we can put our feet up or a cup of coffee...

 I am going to love decorating her for the changing seasons...

Fall Mantel 2012

 I love changing up this old mantel season after season...

 I love the whimsical pumpkin man...

 I have had this little trick or treat window pane for a long time...

 The Jim Shore figurine is a gift from my parents...

Mother/Daughter Weekend

Hi All,
My daughter just moved to Bloomington, IN. I spent the weekend with her and we had so much fun! She is going to work for awhile and then might return to school at Indiana University.  What a beautiful campus and town.

Here is the little place we ate the first night.  It was so nice sitting outside enjoying the weather...

 Saturday morning I went to daughter's restaurant ,where she is employed and had breakfast.  She's a goofball, sometimes :)

 I enjoyed the Farmer's market...

 

 Here is where I stayed.  The Grant Street Inn.  Wanna come inside???

 I loved my room!

 So clean and comfortable...

 Pretty fabrics and private bath...

 

 They have a chef that puts together a great brunch...

 Grilled veggies...

 For the meat lover...

 Homemade bread and jams...

 The cute cupboard...

On the drive to and from, I always pass this farm in the hills of Indiana.  I wanted to get a closer pic for you, but the husband was outside doing stuff:(  Her front porch is so cute with red accents.  Maybe next time, I can get closer!
