It's Getting Better!!!

Hi All,
Things are beginning to take shape here and there at the Cape house. The little vignette above the TV...
Some treasured things among my movie books. A picture of Dan and me at The Polo Lounge(where all the old movie stars used to hang out, so you KNOW I was in hog heaven!) in The Beverly Hills Hotel 1999, one of my son's basketball pictures from high school, our beloved dog, Daisy's ashes, a photo of my newborn daughter, 1986.

I brought over my percolator. You KNOW I need a coffee break with all this WORK!

My little spot where I take my coffee break :) Not much furniture, as I want the house all clean and painted, then we will bring alot over from the Inn.

Looking our from the pergola...
I am linking up with Cielo, over at House In The Roses, and Show Your Cottage Off Monday, with Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch and Metamorphis Monday and Marty at A Stroll Thru Life and Tabletop Tuesday.

  12. Your cape is just darling. It looks like things are coming together really nice. Your gardens are so pretty. Won't it be fun to decorate it all once you are finished with the painting.! Will you be painting or will you hire it done? I love freshly painted walls and absolutely HATE to paint. For someone that hates painting, Mr. Sweet says we sure do have a paint brush in our hands a lot.!! :))

  13. The cape house is adorable! Are you going to paint the pine walls? My grandmother and my husband's grandmother both had knotty pine walls. They are so old fashioned and homey to me.

  14. Good Morning Robin! What a sweet and cozy cottage. Adorable to the max!! The next time you plan to go to the Polo Lounge, let me know and I'll meet you there. Of course if we run into any movie stars we'll try not to stare like Lucy did when she went to the Brown Derby with Fred and Ethel and they saw William Holden. Remember the scene where Bill turned the table on Lucy and started to stare back at her and Lucy had this huge fork full of spaghetti, could not reach the end and Ethel pulled out a pair of manicure scissors and cut off the strands of pasta??

Can't wait to see more of the Cape House!!

    Love,
    Susan and Bentley

  15. Susan,
Of course I remember that scene. I think they really did film it at The Brown Derby, too. Once when we were in Beverly Hills I went to the corner where the Derby used to stand and was imagining who all had walked or stood on that very spot. I wished they could have perserved it, but not to be :( You and little Bentley have a great day :)

  18. So cozy Robin!~ Honestly there is no better cup of coffee than a percolated one! I love my keurig machine, but what you have really can't be beat. You have so many cozy places to sit for your coffee...I would pick a new one all the time:) Have a great day! Debbie

  24. I just discovered you blog and I had to comment about your beautiful kitchen. I so loooove your blue and white kitchen countertop!! That is exactly the look I want for my kitchen! I have a very large kitchen, covered in reddish bricks and wood cabinets. I own lots of Frenc faience and antique copper. My appliances are white. I think the blue/whit tiles will lighten balance the other dark colors and will emphasize the Provence look I like. So, what's my problem? That everybody and their brother are telling me to get granite countertops! I don't want granite! I think it's a passing phase that will look dated in 10 years, whereas tiles have been around since the Roman empire! Your advice, please?

  25. Ana Maria,
Did see where I can write you back, so I hope you get this. I decided on tile for two reasons, cost, so much cheaper than granite and it goes with the style and period our home was built, which was 1939. I love the look of tile. Reminds me of old California bungelows, so that is right up my alley. Hope you check back to read this.
    Robin
