Hi All,
Tonight I am posting my very favorite piece of vintage furniture in my house. Can you spot it back there in the corner?
My little vintage Ethan Allen tea cart...
A closer look. The little handle drops down if you need it to for space...
I love the detailed mill work on the handle...
And those cute spindled wheels with rubber rims...
It also has 2 drop leaves... I found it a second hand shop about 5 years ago.
Very sweet Robin! I love this cart! My mom has a very old wicker cart I used to use in my room as a girl growing up! I am sure one day I will inherit it. I loved that cart! But... I have very vivid memories of that handle getting in the way sometimes when I wanted to reposition it differently. That is so useful that the handle on your cart can go down! That is what makes it very unique! That is quite a nice cart!
ReplyDeleteOh It is such a wonderful cart. I love the turned handle. So pretty. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Robin, Love your cart, I have seen a few of those back in the day...fond memories. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugz,
Kim
Robin, your tea cart is perfect! You can't beat Ethan Allen. The older pieces are so timeless.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!! I am hosting a Giveaway on my blog...so do drop by!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty little piece - there are so many uses for something like this, although it's perfect just sitting there with the pretty arrangement.
ReplyDeleteOh yes... Ethan Allen. In the 1970's I used to drool over their catalogues and hope that someday I would have a home full of their furniture. I'm sure this is one of the pieces that I fell in love with. Excellent quality. I know you are enjoying it. These little tables aren't so common anymore so I know you will treasure it always.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!

Tea carts are a favorite item for me and I love yours!! When I was growing up we had a little den/tv room that was furnished in Ethan Allen furniture I loved. When Daddy retired and my parents moved to Arizona, Mom sold all of the EA furniture. Wow ... sure do miss it!! Enjoy your sweet tea cart, it's a cutie!!

I saw a pretty cart at the thrift shop and still am thinking about it..bet its gone. Listening to you rave about your cart makes me second guess my choice to not grab it. Following you now. Oh yeah, also a tennis girl myself!
ReplyDeleteDelightful dessert cart. Love that particular style.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Robin. I love it. Oh and thanks for stopping by my blog and voting for Carole. By the way that was not the pic I was talking about. I sent another one to you as an email. I hope you got it. Once you see that one you will understand. Have a great weekend. Oh it ain't looking good for Carole...she is getting hammered by Irene. Once again love your blog. Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat would be my favorite piece too Robin...I love it! EA is great stuff...I have a few small pieces myself. If you ever read my DR story, we had a set of that too...I sold it, and did a pub room instead..which gets used a lot more then the DR.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. I discovered you through a comment you left on Susan's blog, about being an old movie gal. I am a classic movie addict, so that comment struck a chord with me, and I had to pop over and say hi.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a classic movie addict that I do a Friday movie review, where I share a bit about one of my favorites each week.
Anyhow, I LOVE your tea cart. I went antiquing yesterday, and I came upon a tea cart I would LOVE to have bought. Alas, though, it was far too expensive for my budget. One day, though!!
Well, blessings to you,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)
It's perfect for your house!! I remember you saying once that you loved maple furniture! I can see why it's one of your favorite pieces!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful piece of furniture! I like that it isn't painted. I like just plain pretty wood much of the time!

ReplyDeleteWhat a versatile piece...why don't they still make these for us today? It's lovely in that corner! So glad you are back home...I know you are loving it!
ReplyDeleteGreat little tea cart. I have a friend that her entire home is filled early American furniture. She has one similar to yours. You have a lot of pretties sitting around.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty piece. It looks right at home in the cozy corner. I'll bet those drop leaves come in so handy for you. What a pretty plate sitting on it, too.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I have a similar tea cart that my hubby bought for me a couple of years ago. I love it!

ReplyDeleteVery nice cart. I love the way you have it decorated too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun piece! The little wheel is my favorite part...
ReplyDeleteI can remember back in the late 70's and early 80's, a friend and I spent all our spare time in the local Ethan Allen store. It was so so pretty with all that maple furniture. They went out of business a few years back. I had several pieces that were sold over the years.
ReplyDeleteI still have my maple harvest table, painted red and some maple chairs, painted black.
I love your little cart...enjoy it!! You have it decorated so cute...as is everything in your precious house.

Thank you for visiting me at Ladybug Creek. I'm so sorry it's taken me awhile to get back to you. We left for our deer lease on Thursday and just got back home.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your Ethan Allen cart. I probably drooled over it in the catalogue years and years ago. You certainly have a fine piece of furniture there.
Can you tell me about your maple table and chairs? The chairs look identical to the ones my mother had around her maple table... which I have now... and am actually sitting at as I type.
Your home looks absolutely wonderful... so warm and inviting! I love it!! You and I enjoy the same look and colors.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was a great one!
Have a blessed week.
