Famous Couples Friday

If I had to pick one show to watch over and over, it would probably be The Andy Griffith Show. I am seeing on TVland that they are saying it is the 50th anniversary of the show. This must say something about us. We love the simplier life and times of past, as we are still watching this classic show. Can you get any better than these two playing off each other? Andy and Barney, I think not :)

I love Andy. I ADORE Andy.

Barney - - - NOT SO MUCH!!! He makes me a nervous wreck and I get all embarrassed just trying to watch him!!!

I know - - - I think I'm afraid I'm him.

Robin, let me tell you one of the best cousins trip was when Mary and I went to Mt Airy NC. We had a blast, it is the home of Andy and the protype for Mayberry. We even stay and the home Andy grew up in! It is a b/b and when u stay there u r the only guests! We love the Floyds barber shop "Floyd" was a little frisky! And even Otis was walking the streets. It is worth the drive for a relaxing fun vacation!

Hi Robin! I loved that show...it's one of those wonderful shows like 'The Waltons' that just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I guess growing up with my Grandparents has made me nostalgic for old shows like these...ones that take us back to a more simple quiet life. I guess that's why I love living in the country so much. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories! Take care....Maura :)

Oh yea= my fav show too and has been since childhood. Mt. Airy- which is the real place they call Mayberry is only 23 miles from me and I love to go shopping uptown there. My Aunt was the principle of the Mt. Airy elementary school for 27 years and I'd go stay with her in the summers.
Mt. Pilot is actually Pilot Mountain and we love going there on a saturday and getting ice cream.
it wont be long now till each town has their fall festival and they make it as much like MAYBERRY as they possibly can.. Its wonderful and I feel so blessed to live as close as I do..

Hugs
Sonny

Wait! Another great TV couple: Felix and Oscar! God, how I loved those two! I am hoping they bring "The Odd Couple" to TVland too! (And I DO love Andy and Barney too!)
Best,
