Going to Graceland

Hi Y'all,
I had to try my best southern accent. Ok, not very good, I know. I do love that boy from the southland, tho, sooooo me and Mr. Tennis are treking down the Memphis tomorrow for a couple of days for Elvis week. Dan says I am with my kind down there :) I could go on for days about how I got to see Elvis twice, live in concert in the 70's, when I was a teenager and how it impacted my life, but I won't. I will say tho, that he had it all. Talent, looks and charisma, plus he loved his family and helped others. Some of it(help to others) we will never know, as he didnot broadcast things like that. Ok, I think you get the drift of how I feel about Elvis. A couple of concert pics of how he looked when I saw him. Enjoy ladies! 1973 Aloha From Hawaii, broadcast via satellite.

Somewhere on tour, during the 70's

This is me last year on the stable tour, behind Graceland. This is the wonderful gal that oversees the stables and has for many years. She was delightful. Priscilla has rescued abused horses and this is one that will live out the rest of his life at Graceland. Elvis would be proud.
We will be seeing the recently re-released "Elvis On Tour" from 1972 at the historic Orpheum Theater on Sat night. Elvis used to watch movies there with the gang. We are staying at The Peabody, which will be another treat.
Have a great weekend!

  2. Have a real great and fun trip! I've never been to Graceland..but would love to go visit there someday! I have been a fan of Elvis' ever since I first watched and listened to him sing on the Ed Sullivan show! You are sooo lucky to have got to see him in a couple live concerts! I had always wanted to see him in one of his concerts, but never did make it to one..

    Have lots of fun!

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  4. Given my olden age, you KNOW how much I loved Elvis. He was a huge part of my life during my teen years in the 50's. We ate, slept and dreamed of him. I used to think that one day, we would meet and he'd sweep me off my feet. Hahaha...silliness of the teen years.

I really enjoyed my visit to Graceland and am sure you are, too.

The comment from your husband about "your kind" made me laugh.

  9. Dear Tennis Girl....I agree! Your home is a little doll house! :) I will never get to live in such a home..but I dearly adore being able to look at other homes and dream. Maybe in my next life.
