Movie Star Monday

Hi All,
I am posting alittle early for Movie Star Monday, but it will be a busy week ahead for me. I turned on Turner Classic Movies this morning and there she was, Myrna Loy. What a dame! How many times do you hear that in an old 30's movie??? Myrna was born in Montana in 1905 and passed in 1993 at 88. She was such a delight to watch. Classy and snappy. Loved her. An early shot, probably from the 20's...
The Thin Man with William Powell and Asta. What a great series of Thin Man Movies they did. They are preserved for us to watch over and over. Wonderful!

A shot of two great movie stars. Myrna and the great Gloria Swanson, probably in the late 70's...

  1. Robin...It's already Monday in Australia so you aren't early at all. I love The Thin Man movies and TCM is one of my favorite channels. Have a productive busy week with no glitches in your plans.

  2. Dames....a perfect word for them. I love the fashions too. Better check your dates there. You have her born after she died. Lol. There is the genealogy researcher coming out in me.

  3. She was quite a lady - so many of her vintage were. There really no one like them at all today - just a lot of trashy 'celebs'.

  6. Hi Robin! Dames! They don't make 'em like that in Hollywood anymore, do they? I love Myrna Loy and the Thin Man series. Did you ever see Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House with Myrna and Cary Grant? Oh, it's one of my favorites. In Blogland a while back there was a little test you could take to see which olden movie star you were most like. Guess what? I took it and Myrna Loy was who it turned out I was most like! What a compliment! :)

I'm so thrilled you'll be coming to my kitchen party!!
    Can't wait,
    Be a sweetie,

  7. I love those old movies! My hubby and I became addicted to TNT over the summer and watched a few silent movies. ;)

I need your snail mail please, so I can send your bracelet out. I'm hoping your email didn't reach me as spam... please try to email me again at stitchintyme9 at aol.com. Thank you. :)
