I think we are all saddened by the death of Elizabeth. We loved watching her on the screen and hearing about her private life. More than that she was a caring, compassionate woman who stood by her beliefs and causes. I am so glad that her children could all be around her, at the time of her passing. This is one of my favorite photos of Elizabeth, sans makeup... What a perfect beauty she was.
A very nice tribute. Love the no-make-up photo - such am amazing beauty (inside & out).
ReplyDeleteHer face really was perfect, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteI was a HUGE fan of her both on and off screen! We've lost a legend today.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how hard Elizabeth's death has hit me. She is really the last of the great stars. What a career she had. I must admit, I relate mostly to her as a child actress. I think that her life after Mike Todd was just a sad one and she was forever trying to fill the void he left for her. So, in her honor I am watching National Velvet. She once said that Velvet was the role closest to her heart.
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Susan and Bentley
xxoo
I hate to see times change and the loss of such people who touched our lives
ReplyDeleteYes, we will miss her so, the last icon from the Golden Age of Hollywood. I treasure so much the movie I have: "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", where she looks like a queen of gorginess, (I just made up this word for her) with also gorgeous Paul Newman...WHAT A COUPLE!!! May God keep her soul.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this great cs of her.
FABBY
Wonderful tribute to an amazing star from the past. I think my favorite Taylor film, was Mogambo.
ReplyDeleteI just knew you'd post something lovely, Robin.
ReplyDeletehmmm, I see eyeliner and probably some mascara too. (isn't that make-up?)
ReplyDeleteBut yes! She was a beautiful woman!
