Hi All,
I have been browsing the antique shops, lately. Somehow, Springtime always makes me do that!
I love my Granny's cabinet, so I thought I would add some olden things...
I love all my things, and I loved my Granny especially :)
Do you not just adore this scale??? I have been looking at them on ebay, but found this one in my own area!
And, the cracker tin. So neat!
Hope your week is going well...
I am linking with...
My Granny had one of these and my cousin has it now. Fits her home perfectly just as your's does. I'd say it's also perfectly named...Granny's cabinet!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a Hoosier - but it would not go at all in my small apartment. sigh.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of neat granny things. I like all of them and the way you are using them.
ReplyDeleteI had a hoosier in an early apartment way back in the 60's.......we rented so it wasn't mine. Rent was $15 a week!! Everytime I look at your hoosier I think of my landlady, Mrs. Morrison. The kindest lady I ever met in my whole life. I was 15 years old and she was OLD! She was 62...the same age I am now. Thank you for stirring up some precious memories!
ReplyDeleteI have a cabinet that belonged to my grandmother and several items around my home that make me think of her. I am drawn to items I used to see at her house when out shopping for vintage items. Your cabinet look great!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have ones own grandmo's things, I love your hoosier and the things in it, and you'll always remember her when you look at it, or fix it. I have a post at TTT with family heirlooms too...come over!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.

ReplyDeleteI love your Hoosier and I love that scale...I have been looking for one, but since they are so popular {and probably expensive on ebay}, I am going to keep looking in out of the way places.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Robin. I have always adored those cabinets...I have no place to put one though. Love all your sentiments that go along with it. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI immediately spotted the little red notebook in the Longaberger basket. I'm a bit of a LB fanatic myself. Glad I dropped by.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI love your Hoosier its just wonderful! and all your vintage finds just seem to tell a story of years gone by. I have always wanted one, one day I hope to find one.
What a great Mama and daughter trip you had. I have never been to Chicago, my daughter's boyfriend is from Chicago and she will be visiting his parents in Sept. for the first time. So maybe (what do you think?) maybe I will be going to Chicago one day...wink, wink.
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
I so enjoyed catching up on your blog. Your hoosier cabinet it wonderful and I love how you decorated it. And you have such a meaningful story to go with it. Also enjoyed your pics of Chicago and (Marshall Fields) and your home is about as cozy and cute as can be... I love the window at the turn of your stairs...your kitchen cabinets, the blue trim around your countertops etc. I hope you have a good Easter weekend!

I love your hoosier, it is wonderful. I have one also, however it is in the bedroom, no place in this small house to put it. Love the scales and the tins. How fun and so pretty. Beautiful display. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteRobin...I have one of those old scales and I use it to weigh packages. It's so nice to see you still honoring your grandmother. Happy Easter.
