I need to add another couple this week. I follow alot of "old Hollywood" type blogs and one of them posted that yesterday would have been Rudolph Valentino's 115th birthday. Valentino was America's first hearthrob of the movies and the first film idol. In honor of Rudy, here is a picture of he and his second wife, Natasha Rambova, boarding a train, ca. 1926. Have ever seen such georgous clothes to ride a train? Fabulous! Rudolph Valentino and Natasha Rambova
This is what I call style!

Fabulous! Thanks for sharing this...I want that dress!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful day!
Weren't they elegant!?...........and she looks like the quintessential femme fatale!
ReplyDeleteI can remember how people used to dress riding the train and planes. In their finest and always looked so nice. Now, when I go to the airport, it's all jeans, shorts, wrinkled t-shirts, flip-flops and sometimes, even pj bottoms. My, how things have changed, just in my lifetime.
ReplyDeleteValentino was before my time and I've not seen any movies with him. I suppose he was in the "talkies"...Mr. Newman and Joanne were a favorite couple of mine...they were married a long time. My most favorite couple of all times would be Robert and Natalie...and I was glad to see you do a post on them. She was the cutest thing and i am still totally in love with Mr. Wagner. He still makes me catch my breath when I see him in commercials. :))
Good Morning Robin! You must love the Turner Classic Movie channel as much as I do!!

Hey great! I just found this! This was in August 1925, Rudy and Natacha were saying their last farewells to one another. Though they did not know this at the time. They were divorced in January 1926.
ReplyDeleteI think we have gotten lazy in our fashion.
ReplyDeleteI have just yesterday decided I'm gonna wear dresses again and wear makeup more often.
