Good Morning All,
I went over to Pink Saturday, but think I am too late to participate. Please go over and check out the pinks! I will try alittle earlier next time, but I did want to share my beauty bush with you again. When we moved to the Cape house is 1985, the house had not been lived in for 1 yr. The lady of the house had moved to her son's, as she was not well and lived there until her death. The family that owned our home have been family friends for years. She, Dorothy, was an avid gardener and left her wonderful gardens for me to continue on with. I am sure this bush was transplanted from one friend to another long ago. One of the neighbor ladies always called it "Dorothy's beauty bush." I would like to know the official name of it, but it is one of my favorite bushes in the yard.
Have a great Saturday.
Robin
I did the same thing Robin! Too late to the party! Maybe next week, huh? Anyway, love this bush. I tried looking closer at the photo and am wondering is this a weigla? I think that's how you spell it. I have one that is white but I cannot see the blooms on yours close enough to tell. I hope someone will identify it for you. It's beautiful though and certainly deserves the name of beauty bush!
ReplyDeletedunno what it is. does it have a scent? it's pretty no matter what....
ReplyDeleterobin, have a great weekend!
Janean,
ReplyDeleteIt fills the yard with scent. Wonderful!
I don't know if I've commented before on how much I love cape cods and how pretty your house is. It reminds me of Illinois where I grew up.
ReplyDeleteLove your cottage!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday
Sorry - can't help with the name, but I will join in the group of admirers. Somehow a Cape Cod house just has to be surrounded by lovely old blossoming shrubs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the way it overhangs your yard. I am dreaming of sitting on a bench under it. So pleasant.
