Hi!

Hi All,
I am back with you for a bit. My Dad had double knee replacement 4 days ago. He is 82 and in great shape, so he is doing great in therapy. They moved him to skilled care today in the hospital, where he will be for a few days till he is ready to come home. He is dealing with a little confusion, tho. They don't seem too concerned about it, most likely a combo of pain meds and low blood pressure from the meds. He has such a great, positive spirit and overall, doing really well.
It was in the 50's today in Illinois??? I would love to see some SNOW! I have all the decor just waiting...
On the island...
In the dough bowl...
The bookcase...

The teacart...
The fireplace...

Okay, it can wait until I get my Dad home from the hospital, but then, I am ready!!!

  1. Robin...I'm glad to hear your dad is doing well with his therapy and has been moved to skilled care. I think the confusion following surgery is rather commonplace. I'm sure it will pass. You have plenty of time for snow after you get him home.

  2. I am glad Eddie is still doing well and ready to go to rehab. Sorry about the confusion, I hope it is minor. You take people out of their routine, give them anesthesia and pain meds..it happpens.

Let's have some snow after he is home and on a day I have off!! I am ready or if not let us just move on to spring. Take care

  11. I could do without the rain and ice we've been having and I wish for one good snow storm, at least! We had 50's here yesterday and today, as well. Just cloudy- Typical midwest weather....

Sure wasn't in the 50s up here in NW Illinois today- but it wasn't that cold snap and snow dump we had a few days ago!!

Rapid return to good health for your Father too! :D

  13. Sorry about your dad, but he sounds like a strong person at his age. We are both the same age, and I am still trucking right along. Trust all goes well for him.

  14. We got your snow over her in northern Michigan! Then rain then snow!! Crazy weather!
My mother had both knees done at different times in her 80's. She did great. I was worried about her getting through the surgery but she did marvelous and did what they told her and all works well! Good luck and best wishes for your Dad!

  15. Hey, I had my house all decked out with snow decor and we too had NO snow. It just didn't look right. I finally put it away, changed to Valentines and guess what? Yup, it snowed. Oh well, we really needed it. Glad to hear that your dad is doing good. I wish him a speedy recovery.
    Hugs,

  19. Hi Robin!

Good new that you dad is doing better. I think anesthesia is harder on us as we age.

Funny you are wanting snow, be careful what you wish for ;) You could get too much and then have to pull out ALL your Christmas decor!

Thanks for sharing at the Bunny Hop! btw.. it's in the low 80's here.

  20. We'll we just ordered a new snow blower and it's going to be delivered on Monday, maybe that will bring snow. Here in Kansas we are ZERO for snow too. Go figure.

  21. We had snow in the valley last week, a big snowfall, but it melted off the next day. The mountains have been slammed with snow. 25 inches in one day on our lot up in New Meadows! It will be a long time before it melts off and we can break ground for the cabin. I remember growing up in Illinois when we had lots of snow. I always loved it.

    Big Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

  22. I've know several folks who were a little (or a lot) confused following surgery, including a then50 year old who insisted she was right and everyone in the room was wrong (we still laugh about it 12 years later!). Healing takes time for everyone. God bless your father and you. Here in my part of Texas no snow. How I wish. But we are getting rain so I'll be happy with that.

  23. Hi Robin! I only like snow because my garden needs a blanket in winter! Glad to hear your dad's doing better!

  24. Hi Robin, your dad is so brave to have both his knees done at once. I hope he does well with his rehab therapy. Speaking from experience, that is the hardest part of recovering.

We too have temps in the 50's/60's and NO snow at all. Our trees are trying to bud. I hope we don't get a winter blast in late winter early spring.

    Hugs, Jeanne
