Hi All,
I am so excited to share with you my "new" olden Frigidaire Flair! My girlfriend and I drove 3 hrs to get her in the pouring rain. Yes, she is worth it! Here is the before...
The after. I went with a golden yellow for the walls...
Here she is at work. Her first meal was salmon patties, butter beans and rolls in the oven...
The Frigidare Flair is really a workhorse. This one is from 1965, and you can spy one just like it on the old TV show, Bewitched. :)
Oh I had a very similar one once and you are right, they are definitely work horses and so many ovens is fabulous. Love it. What a prize. Hugs,Marty
ReplyDeleteYou scored big time!! Love your new wall color!
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy great. Love it. Turned out fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOk! I love the new paint. I love your new stove. But you need to show the ins and outs...close ups! I need close ups.
ReplyDeleteDo the burners get covered up when not in use?
I have a 1956 Chambers Range and I love it! It "cooks with the gas turned off"
Anyway... love your stove! Enjoy!
Pat
Congratulations on your new/olden stove, Robin. Oh, she's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love me some salmon patties! :)
That really is an awesome looking stove.
be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
So glad you got one. I cook on a 1958 Western Holly. Original to the house. Still works pretty darn good. The old stuff was made so well. She is a beaut!!
ReplyDeleteIt fits in there perfect. Sure makes me think of my Grandma cooking, I can remember her sliding the burners in and out, hers had the oven above and below both.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you got it and I am sure you and Susan had a ball going to get it!
OMG, I am insanely jealous of that mid-century masterpiece! My ex's family had one in their lake cottage. And when I was growing up, the really rich girl a few blocks from us had one in their contemporary mid-century house. And, of course, who could forget the one in the kitchen of Samantha Stevens! You lucky girl! I'm your latest follower.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty she is!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Such a treasure! I know you will enjoy many hours of baking and cooking!
ReplyDeleteOMG! You got her! She is fabulous! I'm sure she will serve you well. Do you feel just like Samantha?
ReplyDeleteI love, love love it Robin! It is so very perfect for you!! I can just envision Aunt Clara strolling through the door to the kitchen to show you her newest door knob. I bet up look really cute cooking up a storm on your stove.
ReplyDeleteBig, big hugs,
Susan and Bentley
What a great find! You are a lucky girl, and I wish you many good meals on that workhorse. Visiting you from the Cozy Home Party.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. Probably made 10X better than what we have in our kitchens today.

I love the older kitchen appliances. I'd rather have an old one that works great than a new one that doesn't do what's needed! Love the look of your 'new' goodie!

Hi Robin!
ReplyDeleteHow futuristic... for 1965! I love how the burners can be pushed back when not in use. It goes very nice with your kitchen.
I must ask... does it prepare dinner when you twitch you nose?
Thanks for sharing at my party this week!

I have an old stove too that took me a long time to find, husband is an auctioneer and he auctions with others from all over Ontario. so when I found it had to get another auctioneer to pick it up and deliver it to an auction house and then sent another auctioneer in to get it and deliver it to my husband. Mine is nothing like yours, just the bottom part, the large double oven and two drawers below it. But I love mine. Would love to see the insides of yours though, more pictures. someone else mentioned that. Thank you for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI love your new oven, and your blog! It stands out...both! I am your newest follower. Hey that dinner sounded nice too :)
ReplyDeleteCome visit some time :)
