Thanksgiving Dinner
Hi All,
Yesterday was our big feast at my sister-n-laws, so today I cooked for my family :) On the menu was turkey, baked corn casserole, candied yams, apple salad, rolls, pumpkin pie and Granny's chocolate sheet cake. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family.... Mom, Dad, me, Dan, Jake and Taylor. My Dad's head is healing up nicely. He still has the small bandage on the top, but we think only one more trip to the doctor and we will be on our own. Yay!

Vintage Things
Hi All,
I have shown you my hand built shelf above my microwave before. It is now dressed up for Christmas. There are several vintage things displayed on the shelf. The coffee grinder, a birthday gift from my daughter, my spice cabinet, which I bought in the early 80's and sitting on top of it is my Grandpa's harmonica. He called it the French Harp. He would play the french harp and he taught me to chord along on the piano. I loved those times on their farm :)

Christmas Vignette
Hi All,
Hope you are all having a good week! I ususally hang the stockings over the fireplace, but I thought I would change it up alittle this year and hang them from one of my shelves in the living room. I think they look cute here. Above is my son's senior picture and a photo of my son with my Uncle and our family friend, who's parents built our beloved Cape house. :) They are golfing in Arizona, where my Uncle lives.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Sunday Meeting
Good Evening Everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday evening. One of the things we enjoy is our late Sunday afternoons from 4-6 p.m., and time with our good friends, Jim and Cindy. Jim was in Dan's class and Cindy and I were in the same class, in high school. We all grew up in this small community together. We get together sometimes at our local winery or each other's homes. This afternoon we had them over here, at the Cape house. The snacks are simple, cheese and crackers, homemade quacamole, chips, olives, nuts and wine.

Vintage Thingie Thursday!!!
Hi All,
Tonight I am joining up with Suzanne over at Coloradolady and Vintage Thingie Thursday. This is one of my favorite parties. Please go check out all the neat vintage items! Also, I am linking up with Cindy over at My Romantic Home and Show and Tell Friday and Miss Mustard Seed and Furniture Feature Friday! This is a little sideboard that I bought at one of the local antique stores for the B&B, several years ago. I loved it so much I had to bring it over to the Cape house. Here is sits in the breakfast nook. My vintage tole lamp, picture of the tennis girls and a holiday platter all sit on top. Below are some of my cookbooks and serving baskets. The picture above are of my babies(many years ago) :)

Good Evening All,
I don't do too many projects around the house, such as refinishing furniture, etc., but I do move things around, ALOT! I wanted to join over at my friend Kim's Before and After party at Savvy Southern Style, so I am posting a before and after vignette.
The vignette this summer on top of the TV cabinet...

Tennis Girl Party!
Good Morning All,
I am soooooooooo glad to be reunited with all of you and my COMPUTER! It has been getting debugged for the last two days. I love my Iphone and I have been keeping track of you all, but it is just not the same as the good ole laptop :) Our monthly Tennis Girl dinner was last night. As always there is lots of laughs, good food and girlfriends. Our hostess was Sheila(back row on the right) last night and her meal was like going to an elegant restaurant. She should do this for a living. Wonderful appetizers, apple stuffed pork loin, creamed spinach, augratin potatoes and dessert was a maple torte with cranberry compote. Pumpkin pie punch was our cocktail. She had a pick with pineapple and candied pecans floating on top! Oh my, it was yummy! I am still stuffed this morning.

Hi All,
The mornings and evenings are now getting quite chilly in Illinois. Brrrrrrrrrr I love it that I can now use my fireplace in the old Cape house. There is nothing like sitting by a fire in your favorite chair :)
