Decorating For Spring!

Hi All,
Worked yesterday and today putting away the winter decor and bringing out the spring/summer decor. I am enjoying decorating the new den and apartment. I will share pics of it later, when I am finished.
Not much change here, just took away the evergreen tree and in it's place a red plaid Longaberger...
My tiny window looking to the north in the den. I love changing our this vase for the seasons.
Nook above the sink. Back to the raspberry garland and fruit...

We are suppose to have snow showers tomorrow, but it will be warm and sunny in my house!

Hi!

Hi All,
Just "hopping" in to say hi to you all. My Dad is doing great with his double knee replacement. He was suppose to be in out patient therapy for around 10-12 weeks, due to his age of 82. We are out of surgery for 5 weeks and we saw the surgeon yesterday and he suggested we ask therapy if we need to come back or just do exercises at home! I think they are kicking him out of therapy! I knew he would do well, as he was playing tennis until last spring and has such a positive spirit.
I am decorating for spring, so I had to share my bunnies with you!

My New Picture

Hi All,
I have been putting finishing touches on the new den. It is mostly done in an equestrian theme.
Since we love our doggies, I thought this print was fitting, especially since the dogs are in a horse stable.
I picked out the frame and matting...
I love the rich taupe matting...
I also brought this pooch in from the porch. Somehow, I thought it was too cold out there for him. Yes, I know he is not real, but thought he could join us inside :)

I'm Seeing Red!

Hi All,
After all it IS Valentines Day! Thought I would post some reds today...
I love my cottage picture that sits behind my kitchen cupboard...
I have been getting a dozen red roses every year from hubby, since 1998, when we began dating...
Red berries above the bookshelves...
And the olden cooler atop my tea cart...

The 1920's

Hi All,
I MISS you! The good news is that my Dad is doing great, three weeks out of double knee replacement. We go 3x a week to physical therapy and he is walking great! I have a day off, so I am going for a massage and then taking my Mother for hair color in our little hometown, so I am not traveling anywhere today, yay!
This is just a fun post about my favorite era, the 1920's and some fun fashion photos. Here is Louise Brooks. She had such an interesting look. Dark haired and beautiful...
The cloche hat. I love them...
And the beautiful headscarves. Wowza!
The men were all so nattily dressed in their suits...
Probably my love for Mary Jane pumps comes from the 20's. Ahhh, to have a cup of coffee at an outdoor cafe in the 20's. How cool!

Room Update

Hi All,
I wanted to share with you that I am redoing the room downstairs that I once converted into the dining room. This room now is a secondary den type room, since the renovation. As you know, we live in a Cape Cod style home, so I am dedicating this room to the old Cape Cod style. I am just in the planning stages.
Here are some elements that will be included. Of course, the Cape Cod home style...
My husband once owned a sailboat, so some of his sailing decor will be included...
I have ordered this photo, which I will frame...
I love this print...

Stay tuned, as I am going to start to put this room together soon!

Do You Wanna Peek at the Garage Apartment?

Hi All,
Not too appealing from here, but let's open the door... Keep in mind I have not decorated, but I will get to it soon. Need to get my Dad on the mend from his double knee replacement, first.
The apartment is at the back of the garage. Darling daughter stayed back here over Christmas and my Uncle will stay here during the summer, for fair week...
The nook where my Granny's table sits...
I love the olden "Edison light" that I found at Home Depot over the table...
The kitchenette...
The other end with one of the beds from The Daisy Inn and daughter's Eyeore(sp?), I know she is 25, but Momma still puts a stuffed animal out for her when she comes home...
The bath with corner shower and pedestal sink...
And the other end. I made use of every inch of space...

The Poochies

Hi All,
Sharing some pics of the babies today!
Here they are in the old living room, before the renovation... It's a dogs life!
Here is Theodore's spot between Mr. Tennis and me at bedtime. Cocoa goes under the covers by our feet.
My precious Cocoa. We rescued him about 6 years ago. He has blessed us with so much love.
And the little brother, Theodore. He fits that bill to a tee. He came to us one day and sat on our step crying to come in and never left. He has been with us for 4 years.
